Additively Printed Magnetics

Additive manufacturing removes manual operations of magnetic production and allows the designers to have a programmed permeability in the magnetic structure. This enables uniform distribution of flux throughout core material. Additively Printed Magnetics removes the limiting restrictions of core shapes and enhances the thermal dissipation characteristics of the magnetic material. These are the advantages we get.

Presently, two printing strategies are being explored for this task, selective laser melting and fused deposition modeling. Both provide promising results using a nano-chystillaine powder as a seeding material while further development is underway.
